Hosts Michael Fremer, Analog Planet, and Dr. Tetsuo Kubo and Bob Bean of Haniwa discuss Advancements in Analog - Haniwa Low Impedance MC Cartridges, Current Loop System, Turntables also All thing Analog! Press Release We are delighted to have Bob Bean from Haniwa Audio set up a Zoom meeting with us featuring the unique current loop moving coil cartridge that has been reviewed by Michael Fremer in Stereophile. Bob presented the entire Haniwa audio system to us in 2018 and Michael Fremer did his great turntable setup presentation for us several years back. It's great to welcome them both back. Dr. Tetsuo Kubo, the designer and founder of Haniwa Audio will also be with us from Japan. At about 3:30PM there will be an LP raffle by Haniwa of four Michael Fremer recommended LPs.

Dr. Kubo will be on the video from Japan, Michael Fremer from his home in New Jersey and Bob Bean from Massachusetts. We’ve had a few meetings in the past showing the group the phase coherent Haniwa speaker system but for this meeting we will be discussing analog front ends and a new advancement from Haniwa including tonearm development and the CVC (Current-to-Voltage-Converter). The Haniwa CVC allows sub-ohm cartridges to work in any system by creating a current loop on the cartridge side and using an MM compatible voltage output on the phono preamp side. By the time of this meeting there will be an article published taking a first look at this brand new type of product. The current loop interacts with the mechanical loop to produce a very stable tracking system and Dr. Kubo will present this concept and results of this development. Dr. Kubo will be up and awake halfway around the globe to answer any questions about his analog theories and the CVC from the group. We’re sure you are very familiar with Michael Fremer's work with all things analog through his reviews in Stereophile and his website, Analog Planet. For the 2nd half of the meeting, Michael will offer his perspective on Low Impedance cartridges as well as other topics in analog. Michael is a dynamic presenter and offers a deep knowledge of equipment and classic as well as the latest LP’s. We can stay on the meeting a little longer to accommodate questions but want to have an LP raffle at 3:30PM sharp! Agenda:
We look forward to seeing everyone online on Sunday, June 28th at 2:00PM! NOTE: Michael Fremer is an independent journalist and does not endorse any particular brand of equipment. He is graciously participating as an industry expert and we welcome his views on all things analog! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Zoom Meeting Link above will allow the app to be loaded on your computer if it isn't already and will connect to the meeting. It is suggested to do this a little bit before the meeting. It is not necessary to have webcam or microphone to enjoy the meeting, but the microphone allows for questions at Q&A times. It shouldn't be necessary, but further information on joining a meeting is available at: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-meeting#:~:text=Go%20to%20join.zoom.us,client%20to%20join%20the%20meeting.
