With sports icon Shaquille O’Neal and BKFC Heavyweight Champion Joey Beltran sitting ringside, Shewmaker, (4-1-1, 2 KOs), of Versailles, MO used his exceptional athleticism to take advantage of the crowd favorite O’Bannon, (2-1), Mobile, AL, drilling him with power shots from the opening bell. The early arriving O’Neal also joined Sean Wheeler and Chris Lytle on the international telecast, entertainingly commentating on undercard bouts and declaring BKFC, “The Future of Combat Sports.” As Beltran commentated on the BKFC broadcast for the main event, Shewmaker drilled the valiant O’Bannon to the canvas twice during the opening stanza before a third knockdown towards the end of the round called a halt to action as the euphoric Shewmaker was declared the winner. Following the fight, Beltran and Shewmaker faced off in the squared circle with both men declaring their intent of victory in an upcoming highly anticipated heavyweight title clash. Co-featured England’s Tyler Goodjohn, (3-0, 1 KO), was able to figure out the Rubik’s Cube that is Charles Bennett, (0-3), of Ocala, FL winning an entertaining unanimous decision by scores of 48-46, 48-46 and 49-45 in the 150lb. division. With Bennett overcoming an early knockdown in round one, both combatants spent the balance of the bout drilling each other with heavy handed head-shots opening up multiple cuts during the latter rounds. Fighting in the 185lb. division, Dakota Cochrane, (3-0, 2 KOs), of Omaha, NE scored a fifth-round stoppage of hard luck Tyler Vogel, (0-2), of Fargo, ND in a crowd-pleasing clash. The bout was stopped as the ringside physician deemed a nasty cut on Vogel’s eyelid too dangerous to continue. Heavyweight Josh Burns, (5-4, 5 KOs), of Dearborn, MI proved himself as a man not to trifle with as the brash talking Chris Sarro, (2-1, 2 KOs), of Ellsworth, ME, felt the brunt of Burns power from the start of the fight. Drilling Sarro with battering right hands in the first round, the built-like-a tank Burns ended the fight with a massive knockout at 0:19 of the second stanza. In an all-action women’s 125lb. matchup, the crowd were on their feet throughout as Jenny Savage of Clarksville, TN and Michigan’s Sheena Starr threw punches with bad intentions right from the opening bell. After an outstanding first round of back and forth action, the bloody bout was called to an unfortunate halt as the ringside physician stopped the bout due to Starr suffering too much damage to her right eye, declaring Savage the victor. Further undercard action saw Brad Kelly, (1-0, 1KO), of Harrisburg, MS, stop the valiant Kaine Tomlinson Sr, (0-2), of Roanoke, VA at the end of a hellacious first round following two knockdowns. In the 185lb. division, following a barrage of punches, Harris Stephenson, (3-2, 2KO), of Long Beach, MS, earned the stoppage of Andrew Lipton, (0-3), of Edmund, OK, at the 1:19 mark of the first round. Battling in the 205lb. weight class, the popular Quentin Henry, (2-0, 2 KOs), of West Monroe, LA, wasted no time with a crowd pleasing first round knockout of the bare-knuckle debuting Jason Fann of Dearborn, MI. In a prelim heavyweight bout, Lewis Rumsey, (1-1, 1KO), of Williamsport, PA scored a first-round technical knockout of Adrian Miles, (0-2), of Birmingham, AL with a beautiful left-hand counter ending the bout at the :20 mark of the stanza. Crowder was down in the third round but courageously fought on to the end of the bout. “Catch All Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Action at BKTVApp.com” Social Media Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Instagram: @BareKnuckleFC Twitter: @BareKnuckleFC Facebook: @BareKnuckleFC YouTube: @BareKnuckleFightingChampionship Website: www.BareKnuckle.tv
